The Little Black Jacket
Hi, guys! So sorry for the delayed blog post, but here it is! Last Friday we went to Soho to see the Karl Lagerfeld: The Little Black Jacket exhibit that was there for a week. It was fantastic! The set up of the exhibit was intimate, classic, and very chic, the epitome of what Chanel represents. The artistic photos were taken by the fashion genius himself, Karl Lagerfeld, and captured a slew of celebrities styled in the infamous Black Jacket, including Yoko Ono, Elle and Dakota Fanning, Kanye West, Linda Evangelista, Theophilus London, and Anna Wintour. To my delight, they were even giving away free posters of the 3 photos, one including the always stylish, Sarah Jessica Parker. I may have them framed and put up in our home. So glad we were able to make it in to the city to catch this exhibit on its last day! Check out the photos!

Our First Anniversary!!
I can hardly believe that Friday, June 1st, marked our very first anniversary! Where did the time go?? The day we got married was a normal day for us: we woke up, decided to scrap all our wedding plans and hit the downtown Dallas courthouse, then went grocery shopping! Lol! Not even kidding. No, it was not some huge, extravagant affair, but it was exactly what we wanted: a private ceremony that focused on the beauty of our union. It was absolutely perfect.
Our first year as a married couple was an exciting one, and pretty much the only time we were apart was during training camp last summer. It's truly incredible to wake up next to and spend every day with your best friend (and rarely get sick of each other lol). Marriage at a young age may not be for everyone, but it's been rewarding to grow as a person, woman, and wife with him by my side. So cheers to one year down, and forever to go!
Below are a couple pictures from our wedding ceremony, as well as some pictures from our anniversary the other day. Hope you all have an amazing week!

Memorial Day Weekend
Hi, guys! Well, it seems like we've had visitors consistently every week since we moved to New Jersey, and I love it! This past weekend, my brother in-law, his fiancé, and their two daughters came to visit from Tampa before the football season begins. They definitely took advantage of the city in a way that I've never seen before, and explored every part of New York City lol. By no means were they the average tourists. We really love having our nieces around, especially since we don't have any kids of our own yet. They are the cutest, I miss them already! Here's a few pictures we snapped over the weekend! Hope everyone enjoyed their holiday!

Fox 5 Sports
Last Sunday night we went into the city for a quick interview on Fox 5 Sports with Duke Castiglione. After the segment we headed back towards the ferry and stopped by Clyde Frazier's Wine and Dine, and even got to meet Mr. Frazier himself! The upscale sports bar was really cool, with framed leopard print canvases, pillars, and a glass basketball court (complete with a player). The menu had a wide range of offerings, and the food was tasty. Definitely not your average sports bar!
Have a great weekend, everyone!

Pearl Queen
Hi, guys! Hope everyone had a fantastic weekend! We had great weather over here on the east coast this weekend --- not too hot, not too cool, so on Friday I decided to give my new French Connection sequined jacket a test drive. I asked for this jacket as a birthday gift, and it was delivered :-) The sequins give such a cool opalescent effect to the piece, much like the inside of an oyster, so it looks different depending on the light. I can already see myself wearing it over and over again!
That night we met up with my brother for dinner and a party in the city. He suggested a place I've been hearing great things about: Cafeteria on 7th Ave. We definitely were not disappointed! Apparently they have amazing Mac 'n Cheese... and if you know me, you know I'm a Mac 'n Cheese addict... but, unfortunately, we never got to try it (oh, well. better luck next time). We did, however, have the shrimp risotto, steak, and meatloaf. Wow, best risotto I've ever had! Cafeteria will undoubtedly become a favorite. Great food and a great atmosphere!
